Common issues in hearing aids – For first-time users
Common issues in hearing aids
It can be slightly hard to adjust yourself to a foreign object—especially when it is inside your ears. Wearing a hearing aid for the first time begins with a lot of mild inconveniences. But, it is very usual for people to take some time to get themselves accustomed to their hearing aids.
It is very important to bear all the difficulties initially as it has huge benefits in the long run. Approach a Hearing aid centre in Chennai if you have any hearing issues, and that will pave the rest of the way towards a convenient lifestyle. The hearing aid is custom-made to fit your hearing needs. Hence, your hearing will not be in total disagreement with the hearing aid.
Common issues that a first-time user of a hearing aid might face:
1 – Uneasiness in the beginning
A hearing aid becomes an integral part of your body once fitted with it. Users feel the initial discomfort of the hearing aid–almost an itchy feeling for those who start wearing it for the first time. Sometimes the problem appears huge than it already is. A simple solution for this? Give it some time, and later, you might not even remember wearing a hearing aid!
2 – Noise
Some hearing aids are better at reducing background noise than other types of hearing aids. If you happen to buy a hearing aid in the latter set, you may experience surplus background noise than needed. It should not be a definite problem unless it is irritating or troublesome. Consulting an Audiologist in Chennai would be the best solution then.
3 – Occlusion Effect
Sometimes, a low-frequency sound—which might even be the voice of the person wearing the hearing aid—is jammed at the ear canal. It occurs when the hearing aid blocks the ear canal and the sound is incapable of traveling through the path unhindered. What does it do? The wearer might complain about his voice being hollow or with an unnatural level of bass to it.
It sometimes magnifies even an insignificant sound like chewing food. It creates discomfort since most of the sounds the wearer hears are irritatingly loud. An appointment with the audiologist could help fix the issue.
4 – Interaction with other devices
Everything digital has its radio frequency fingerprint. Since hearing aids also rely on frequencies, there are slight chances for feeble disruptions of the aid with the devices in your house. It is to be noted that such issues are rare since technology has developed quite a lot. Getting the latest hearing device from Siemens hearing aid dealers in Chennai would relieve you from most of the issues.
It is a rare phenomenon since most of the devices are set up to suit the environment you live in. If the issue persists, it is better to contact any hearing aid service provider.
5 – Feedback
Even though the Hearing aid price in Chennai may be reasonable, it is always good to buy the latest device even if you have to shell out more money. It makes a huge difference in the long run. Older devices are prone to feedback—a shrill squeak made when the magnified sound is received by the hearing aid microphone. It is advisable to replace the device if the problems still exist after prolonged use.
