Importance of Choosing the Right Earmould
Selecting the right earmould is one of the most important factors for achieving proper hearing aid fitting, comfort, and sound clarity. An ill-fitting earmould can lead to discomfort, poor sound quality, and feedback issues, even if the hearing aid itself is advanced.
At Adro Hearing Aid Centre, our expert audiologists carefully assess your hearing levels and ear anatomy to recommend the most suitable earmould for your hearing aid.
How Earmould Selection Is Done
Based on Hearing Thresholds
- Patients with low-frequency hearing loss may not always require earmoulds for BTE (Behind-The-Ear) hearing aids
- Sound gain plays a major role in shaping the hearing aid’s response
Based on Frequency Slopes
- If the hearing loss slope between 2 kHz to 4 kHz rises more steeply than the hearing aid response slope, an earmould becomes necessary
- If the hearing aid slope is steeper, a constricted or modified earmould may be recommended to optimise sound delivery
Based on Gain Requirements
Earmould selection is also influenced by:
- Accurate ear assessment and free ear tests
- Customised earmoulds for all hearing aid styles
- Solutions for BTE, analog, and digital hearing aids
- Professional adjustments for comfort and clarity
Our goal is to ensure your earmould fits perfectly, feels comfortable, and delivers clear, feedback-free hearing.
