Generally, hearing aids come in two broad categories, namely, In-the-Ear (ITE) or Behind-the-Ear (BTE). You must choose the type suitable for your ears for better convenience. Let us take a look at these types of hearing aid in detail.
In-the-Ear (ITE) hearing aids
These types of hearing aid fit perfectly inside your ear canal. They are not easily visible to the naked eye. It makes it a viable solution to those hesitant to reveal their device in their social circle. In-the-ear hearing aids are compatible with those having mild to moderate loss of hearing.
1 – Invisible in the canal
These hearing aids are relatively smaller than the others. They fit inside the ear canal perfectly—hidden from the view of the outside world. The amicability of the hearing aid depends upon the nature and size of your ear canal. Hence, it is always better to consult an Audiologist in Chennai to find a suitable device. The only downside to this would be the lack of manual control since the device is inside the ears.
2 – Completely in the canal
They are also invisible save for a tiny bit of extension that juts out of the ear. It allows for manual control that is absent in the ITC models. They can be custom-made to fit inside your ear canal.
3 – In-the-canal
When compared to the IIC and CIC hearing aids, ITC features bigger, more evident parts. However, they make up for the size with the latest technology and longer battery life. It can connect to other electronic devices like smartphones and music players via Bluetooth. Since the size is big, the device is comfortable to handle. These aids would be available with any one of your nearest Siemens hearing aid dealers in Chennai.
Behind-the-ear hearing aid
Generally, behind-the-ear hearing aids have two components to work. The primary unit of the device rests behind your eyes. It contains all the electrical and functional elements to operate. Another piece extends from it and is placed inside the ear canal to pass sounds to, and from the ears. These hearing aids are more popular and it has only grown with the advent of new sleek designs.
Receiver in the ear hearing aids
These hearing aids are more compact than the other behind-the-ear hearing aids. The speaker is placed behind the ear, and a thin filament or a wire goes into the ear canal. The Hearing aid price in Chennai is generally affordable. Since you understand the types of hearing aid available now, you must choose the most suitable model to fit your needs.
