Troubleshooting hearing aid problems
It can be a little difficult at first to adjust to a new hearing aid device. But, that does not prevent you from wearing one since you will be able to hear sounds more clearly this time. Most problems are solved once you get a hearing aid machine. However, as time goes by, you may encounter some issues with the device. This post will help you in troubleshooting hearing aid problems with ease. If the problem persists for a long time, it is advised to consult an Audiologist in Chennai. Otherwise, these steps would be enough to solve any issue that you might encounter with the hearing aid device.
Let us now look into the various problems and troubleshooting methods on a hearing device.
1 – Unable to hear any sounds
This issue is so common, but the reason may be as trivial as not switching on the device. Everyone would be in a hurry, and such mistakes do happen. So, the wise thing to do is check whether the hearing aid is on. If it is all good, and still you are unable to hear any sound, here are some things you can do.
Batteries
Check whether the battery is in its place and not loosely connected to the circuit. Sometimes, the chamber door might not close properly, thus cutting off the power supply. The batteries may not function at their best if they have been unused for a while. Therefore, ensure that you get quality batteries and a few extra ones from any one of the best hearing aid shops in Chennai.
Volume
By accident, the volume would have been turned down. If the voice is too low, adjust the sound either manually or by remote (if it is a more advanced hearing aid).
Clogged tubes
As you keep using the hearing aid device, the connecting tubes would be exposed to dust, earwax, and other particles that would develop in it. These particles would hinder the free flow of sounds to and fro in the device. If you feel like your device needs some proper cleaning, visit any one of the best Siemens hearing aid dealers in Chennai.
2 – Unsatisfactory sound quality
At first, the sound would have been crystal clear. However, over a period, you may start experiencing slight discomfort in the output. Either the sound is high or too low. The primary reason would be the following:
Moisture
Water may leak into the gaps if the device is not fitted properly. If this happens, the moisture will corrode the battery and start distorting the audio feed.
3 – Feedback
Whenever you hear shrill feedback, try lowering the volume. Most electronic devices tend to act that way when they have too much sound than they can handle. If this is not causing the problem, a cracked tubing will. Therefore, ensure that the device does not have any damage.
These troubleshooting tips would be helpful whenever you face a similar situation outlined in this post. If the problem does not seem to go away, it may be something for the experts to figure out.
