Precautions you must take to ensure total hearing aid protection
There are some water-resistant hearing aids. Even though a person has them, it is wise to know about certain measures they need to take to keep their device safe.
Water-proof pouch
If you travel a lot, then hearing aid shops in Chennai recommend carrying a waterproof bag or box in which you can keep the hearing device. When there is a sudden downpour, you can take the hearing aid and keep it safely inside the pouch or the box. In this way, it will not be exposed to rain and moisture.
Have a clean, dry cloth
Be it a home or a workplace, having a delicate, dry cloth will come in handy. If you think the device might have gotten wet, then start cleaning it from the outside either with the cloth or tissue. Then, remove the batteries and clean the compartment so that no trace of moisture is left.
Cleaning with the cloth can be difficult for people using CIC, IIC, or ITC devices. In this case, Siemens hearing aid dealers in Chennai suggest using a cotton bud to remove all the water and moisture in the interior and hard-to-reach sections of the battery compartment. Keeping the battery dry is very vital as it will impact its longevity.
Protective sleeves
To ensure complete protection from any external conditions, you can use a protective sleeve for the hearing aid device. These sleeves are made with nylon which is a great water-proof material. Therefore, this is very suitable for those who are frequently exposed to the outside environment.
For instance, people who exert themselves physically would find this helpful. Hence, a protective sleeve will be a good hearing aid for moisture protection. It will keep the device safe from dirt, moisture, and sweat.
What should you not do?
If your audiologist in Chennai has prescribed a hearing aid device to you, he might give you some directions regarding the usage of the machine. Here are some points that you must not do with your hearing aid.
- The first thing not to do is using a hairdryer in case the device is wet. It is not advisable since extreme heat can damage tiny parts inside the device.
- Even if you have a water-repellent model, their ability to resist water is very limited. Therefore, it is not to be used while you shower or swim.
Protect your hearing aid device from moisture at all costs. The life of the machine will increase if you take proper care of it. Visit Adro Hearing Aid for any hearing aid requirements. Our hearing aid price in Chennai is comparatively economical than that of others.
